Frequently Asked Questions

1 / How big should my backing be?

Your backing should be at least four inches larger than your quilt top on all four sides of your quilt. If you are using extra wide backing, that backing needs to be at least 5 inches larger than your quilt on all sides.

Please notate which side is the top of your backing, if it is not obvious!

2 / Will you prepare my backing for me?

Yes, I can piece your backing for you. You'll be charged $20.

3 / Why is it better to purchase batting from you than to send my own batting?

Pre-packaged batting is more difficult to use on a longarm machine. The smaller packages add extra wrinkles and stretches in the batting that we don't see on our rolls of batting.

If you are sending your own batting, it must be trimmed to 2 inches larger than your quilt on all sides and ironed.

4 / Do you have a minimum quilting fee?

Yes, if the cost of quilting your project (without add-ons like batting and binding) is less than $50, you'll be charged a flat fee of $50 for the quilting service.

5 / Do you offer rush services?

Yes! If you need your quilt sooner than two weeks from when I receive it, you can choose to have it rushed for a fee of $40.

6 / Where do I send my quilt?

Once you have submitted your quilt form, we will get in touch with you with your quote and our address for drop-off or shipping!

7 / How do I pay for my quilt?

Once your quilt is finished, we will send you an invoice for services completed. The quilt needs to be paid in full prior to pick-up or returning the quilt in the mail. You can pay by check (made payable to Cason Quilting, LLC), cash, or Venmo.

8 / Do you complete commissioned quilts for others?

No, not at this time. I currently am only accepting completed quilts for longarm quilting. I will not be completing commissioned quilts. I do occasionally have quilts that I have pieced and quilted for sale on my Etsy page: www.casonquilting.etsy.com
